Actress Samantha Bond (Miss Moneypenny in some of the James Bond films) reads an *abridged version (created by Michael Bartlett) of Postern Of Fate by Agatha Christie which is a Tommy and Tuppence adventure story. POF was the final book Agatha created (Sleeping Murder and Curtain: Poirot's Last Case had been "vaulted" to be released later).
When Tommy and Tuppence Beresford moved to a quiet English village, they were looking forward to a peaceful retirement. But, as they soon discovered, their rambling old house held both secrets and dangers. Who was Mary Jordan? Why had someone left a code message in an old book saying that she 'did not die naturally'? And what was the significance of 'Oxford' and 'Cambridge'?

A trial of patience
Neither one of Agatha Christie's best known or best novels. Whatever pleasure this rather dated tale of espionage might bring is, sadly, almost totally negated by the fact that this has been uploaded in so many small morcels.
As a result, listening on an iPad meant the story cut every six minutes and had to be rebooted.. A shame because the reading is excellent. All in all...not a classic Christie.
